FAQ

1Does the DJ take song requests?

Absolutely!

We understand that it is your event and you have specific songs that you would love to hear!

We will happily play any request if it is appropriate for the occasion (although there is one song, which we will never play..)

2Are all your DJs experienced?
Of course! We have a range of DJs which are highly experienced and demonstrate professionalism. We guarantee that you will receive a DJ that knows what they are doing. We have certain DJs that have more experience in weddings and corporate functions and others that specialize in house parties - this is how we are able to tailor a DJ specifically to your event!
3What does the wedding DJ do?

The wedding DJ will arrive prior to your event, set up and ensure everything is working. He will play quiet background music during meal time and will get everyone up dancing after the guests have eaten! Our wedding DJs will be in formal attire, dressed appropriately for the event.

The wedding DJ will liaise with the wedding coordinator and/or MC and play your songs at the right moments, being your entry song, first dance, the cutting of the cake, etc.. Our wedding DJs are extremely flexible and will cater to all your needs

4What does your wedding DJ / MC package do?
The wedding DJ / MC package is quite similar to the wedding DJ package, however, the DJ will also perform MC duties. They will announce general housekeeping rules at the beginning of the wedding, introduce the bridal party and introduce all formalities throughout the event ensuring your night runs as smoothly as possible.
5When does the DJ arrive?
The DJ will arrive approximately 1-2 hours before your event. This can depend on the type of system you have ordered, circumstances that will cause an extended setup period (e.g. stairs) or traffic that the DJ wants to avoid.
6Is a DJ necessary or can I just use an iPod?
From experience, we have found that DJs generate a significantly larger dance floor. If you would like to just hire speakers and/or lights and DJ your own party, have a look at our equipment hire section!
7Will I need a cabled microphone or a wireless microphone?

Cabled microphones are great providing you are happy to have your speeches next to the DJ booth.

Wireless microphones provide you with the flexibility to move around, have your speeches in a different area or pass the microphone around to various people. Our wireless microphones have a range of 80m!

8What is the difference between the basic light pack and the advanced light pack?

The basic light pack contains 6 party DJ lights which are great for smaller areas. This is perfect to display basic colours and patterns around the room, where you aren't fussed about the light show.

The advanced light pack contains a mixture of various stronger LED lights, lasers, strobe lights and/or par cans to create a seriously cool dance floor! These are great for larger areas or where you want the guests to leave thinking 'wow - that was an awesome dance floor!'

9Are smoke machines needed? What do they do? Are they safe?

It is almost pointless to hire lights and not hire a smoke machine. The smoke machine leaves thin particles floating in the air, which when penetrated with the light beams, creates an awesome visual experience. Without the smoke, you will only see different colours on the wall and no light beams - this will take away from the full effect of the lights.

Yes - smoke machines are safe, even for asthmatics. It is actually not smoke, but water vapor (a mixture of water and glycerine which produces a smoke effect). If the venue permits the use of a smoke machine, then we highly recommend you let us bring it!

10What is the difference between the sound systems?

The sound system for 80 attendees only consists of two 15" speakers, which is great, however, they cannot be pushed too loudly and are only good for smaller areas.

If more guests are present or the area is larger, we will bring additional subwoofers which will give us the flexibility to turn the music louder if you require!

11Is a deposit required?
Yes - we require a deposit of $200 to secure a DJ. This is required as the DJ will start preparing music and playlists weeks prior to your event. And yes, we will refund the deposit if you give us 30 days notice.
12How do I pay?
We accept credit card, bank transfer or PayPal as means of payment.
